I don't know anything about this building in the photo, but I wanted to write about people who contributed to my life in an honest way, since I was reflecting on the past the day I took it.
I grew up in a place where lots of my neighbors took me out to cut firewood, and I bet there's lots of kids who are just like I was in Tidnish Bridge where this photo was taken. For that sake, it's really the same all over.
My neighbors always encouraged me by getting me to fix as many things as I could, starting with bike tires and lawnmowers, eventually it was enough to keep me as busy as I wanted to be.
While I was encouraged early on, it got to a point where I wasn't finding the answers I needed, and even though I don't always feel that the people who looked out for me when I was growing up know how to relate to me, I put a lot of energy into understanding them.
There's one person in particular that really influenced me from a young age, that taught me about hard work and dedication. This person embodies what it means to be persistent, holds a lot of wisdom, and makes an effort to warn me about challenges I may face. It's someone I have to give credit, since they didn't choose an easy path, which means a lot, since I don't often feel I'm on an easy path.
